Dear Neighbor:
This Web Site is a direct and tangible result of the Imagine Rochester sessions that we conducted in the Spring of 2004. In those sessions, which were attended by more than 200 people in all, we discussed ideas on how to improve our town’s government. We also discussed ideas on what our government, and indeed our community, should be doing to make the Town of Rochester a better place for us all to live.
One of the most popular ideas was the improvement of communication between government officials and the public. So on behalf of myself and my colleagues on the Town Board, I’m pleased that this website is up and operating. I hope you’ll look through the site and offer up any suggestions (or corrections!!!) you might have to make it more effective.
This site features pages for many of our town’s government offices, a history of our town, a town calendar (with agendas and minutes of official meetings), town codes and planning documents, and links to other useful sites. If you wish to be kept informed of Town events and meetings, sign up as an e-mail subscriber and have these notices forwarded to you when they are posted. Take a look around the website -- we have a number of pages which serve the town, but need your input. We need help in keeping the following up to date:

In addition to this site, we mailed our first newsletter in early February along with a four-page questionnaire to ask for your input on what priorities our government should pursue to strengthen our community. We have gotten a very good response to the mailing and will share the results with you as soon as we get the data tabulated and analyzed.
If you didn’t get a chance to fill out the questionnaire, its not too late. Pick up a copy at the Town Clerks Office or print off a copy now by clicking on the link at the left. (If you print off a copy, you'll notice the format is different than those sent out...this is to make it easier for you to print at home.) I hope that you’ll devote some of your time and thought to the survey so that we can obtain the broadest and most comprehensive level of input possible. In the past five years, our town has seen an unprecedented pace of growth, and this growth will most likely continue. The purpose of the survey is to assist in the process of attempting to make that growth manageable and consistent with the vision that our residents have of our community.
