Earth Day -- Saturday, April 23
“Adopt A Road”
Join us on Earth Day as a community to clean up our roads on Saturday, April 23. Last year, we had an overwhelming amount of community support. Groups like Rochester Resident Club, Scouts, town officials, and employees, Kerhonkson/ Accord Chamber Of Commerce members, and many area residents all volunteered their time to clean up area roads. The cleanup was a huge success. Why not plan a “Block or Street” cleanup with your neighbors? Along with adopt-a-road volunteers, we also need volunteers to pickup and deliver to Transfer Station throughout the day. Arrangements will be made for Group Leaders to pick up Orange Bags prior to Earth Day.
All volunteers and transfer station workers top off Earth Day at 4:00 PM with a “Pot Luck” dinner at the Community Center. Please call Youth Department to signup at 626-2115.
The second is to announce a town wide photo contest:
As part of the Town Rochester’s community effort to plan for the future, the Rural Character sub-committee is sponsoring a town photographic contest. In addition to photographs, the sub-committee is seeking volunteers to help with various aspects of the event. If you are interested in helping, contact Walter Levy (626-3140)
