All dogs age 4 months and older are required by New York State to be licensed. Authority to issue dog licenses and all licensing requirements is prescribed in Article 7 of the New York State Agriculture and Markets Law.
New dog licenses are issued by the Town Clerk, during normal Town Hall hours. A current rabies certificate is required to obtain the license.
Licensing Fees:
$3.00 for a spayed or neutered dog (a certificate of spaying/neutering is required)
$11.00 for unsprayed or unneutered dogs.
You will be issued a metal tag and a license. The license is valid for one year from date of issuance.
You will receive a renewal in whatever month you initially licensed the dog. You must renew the license sometime during that month. This can be done by mail with the Town Clerk and must include proof of a current rabies shot.
Renewal fees are for licenses are the same as above.
If a replacement tag is required, the cost is $1.50/tag
